FAQ
Questions about ListChute
Everything people ask before they connect an eBay account. If your question isn't here, email us — we answer them ourselves.
Do I need my own eBay account?
Yes. You connect your existing eBay seller account once, through eBay's official OAuth flow.
ListChute never sees your eBay password, and the access token is encrypted at rest. You stay the seller of record on every listing — ListChute does not sell anything on your behalf.
How much does ListChute cost?
Your first 3 listings are free — no card required. After that, one plan with everything: $19/month or $190/year (two months free).
Each item you generate during the trial uses one of the three free slots, and everything about those items — regenerating, editing photos, publishing, revising — stays free forever. Accounts created during the beta keep free access for life. eBay's own insertion and final value fees are charged separately by eBay and are not affected by using this tool. More detail on the pricing page.
What does the AI actually generate?
From your photos it writes the eBay title, the description, the item specifics, and a suggested price.
Specifically: it identifies the item, writes a title of up to 80 characters and an HTML description, picks the eBay category and condition, fills item specifics using eBay's own allowed values for that category, reads product identifiers such as UPC, EAN, ISBN and MPN off labels and packaging, and suggests a starting price with a short written explanation of how it got there.
How does ListChute work with my bin or storage location system?
It has built-in SKU tracking — set a prefix like BIN-15 and it numbers each item for you.
You can set custom SKU prefixes such as BIN-15, BOX-4 or SHELF-B for any batch of items. The app automatically increments them and attaches the SKU to your eBay listing details, so when something sells you already know which bin or shelf it is sitting in.
Can I review and edit a listing before it goes live?
Yes. Nothing reaches eBay until you press Publish.
Every listing goes through a five-step editor — photos, details, price, shipping, publish — and a readiness checklist blocks publishing until the title, category, condition, price and shipping weight are set. There is no auto-publishing of any kind.
What happens if eBay rejects a listing?
You get eBay's actual error message, so you can fix that one field and retry.
Publishing goes through eBay's official Inventory API. When eBay refuses a listing — a missing ship-from address, a business policy that doesn't fit the listing type, an aspect eBay has since changed — the app surfaces exactly what eBay said rather than a generic failure. Item specifics are generated only from the values eBay's own Taxonomy API returns for the chosen category, which removes the most common cause of rejection. No tool can promise eBay accepts everything.
Is the suggested price based on sold listings?
No. It comes from the AI reading your photos — it is not an appraisal and not a comps analysis.
The suggestion is a starting point, not a valuation. Because of that, the app links you straight into eBay's sold listings search for the item so you can check it against what similar things actually sold for before you publish. This is stated the same way in our Terms of Service, §5.
Does ListChute support auctions?
Yes — auctions of 3, 5, 7 or 10 days, or Buy It Now with Best Offer.
Auctions support an optional reserve price and an optional Buy It Now price. Buy It Now listings support Best Offer with auto-accept and auto-decline thresholds.
Can I change a listing after it is live?
Yes, and it is revised in place — it keeps its item number, watchers and bids.
Edit the listing and send the update to eBay. It is not ended and relisted, so you don't lose the listing's history or its watchers.
How many photos can I use per item?
Up to 24 per item, which is eBay's own limit.
A built-in editor can rotate, straighten, crop, auto-enhance and adjust brightness and contrast. Every edit re-renders from the untouched original, so adjustments never stack up and your photos never degrade through repeated saves.
Do I need an eBay Store subscription?
No.
If you do have one, ListChute detects it and lets you file listings into up to two of your eBay Store categories.
Is there an iPhone or Android app?
Not yet. ListChute runs in your phone's browser, so there is nothing to install.
Open the app on your phone, take photos with the camera, and publish from the same screen. There is no App Store or Google Play download. Native apps are planned.
Which eBay marketplaces are supported?
eBay US only, with prices in US dollars.
Other eBay marketplaces are not supported yet.
